Seth Meicht was born in 1976 and grew up in the Philadelphia area. He studied saxophone at the University of the Arts and studied privately with Odean Pope, Ron Kerber, Ben Schachter and David Murray. Seth was a founding member of The Meicht Group with drummer Brendan Dougherty and trumpeter Aaron Meicht. The ensemble garnered critical acclaim for the recordings Dig the Sound Live (2000) and Loud Like Hemlocks (2001) which were released on Scrapple Records and performed many concerts across America and Europe. As a sideman Seth has performed with numerous working bands such as the Lars Halle Jazz Orchestra and Jim Love & the Blue Groove. Most recently Seth became a member of the Odean Pope Saxophone Choir. |
